The longest beach on the Island, also known as Praia Grande, it consists of 7,5 km of soft, light colored sands, almost untouched by mankind. Being part of Parque Florestal do Rio Vermelho, a reservation of approximately 400,000m2 consisting of predominantly pine forests and completely devoid of any construction. The landscape becomes even more distinct with the dunes, dividing the low vegetation and the ocean.
