Lake Conceição Florianopolis is the ideal day trip destination for your tropical vacation. Located adjacent to a lagoon in the center of Florianopolis, the area is renowned for its breathtaking beauty and natural splendor.
The district is bordered by vivid green hills and rain forest vegetation, making for photo opportunities that can be proudly displayed on anyone's MySpace or Photobucket page. Visitors can also sink their toes deep into the white sand that lines the dunes for a feeling of unsurpassed comfort and relaxation.
Such natural beauty and grace is what led Lake Conceição Florianopolis to be dubbed “the crown jewel†of Florianopolis. Of course, pristine and undisturbed nature is not all this district has to offer. Visitors will also find a small town to whet their appetite for creature comforts. Supermarkets, souvenir shops, beauty boutiques, a post office, and even a medicinal clinic stand ready and waiting to fulfill the economic needs of any tourists nearby.
The town is also a terrific spot to grab a meal and partake in the exciting Florianopolis night life. A word of caution to summer travelers, though; the town gets somewhat crowded during Brazil's summer vacation months of January through February.
Lake Conceição Florianopolis is also home to some of the most gorgeous and sought after beaches on the whole island, and when it comes to an island with over 40 beaches, that is truly saying something. Joaquina beach and Praia Mole beach come to mind first and foremost, as both of these beaches have played host to famous professional surf tours with stars from around the globe. Even when the athletes put away their surfboards, these two beaches are famous for being all-around nice places to kick back and enjoy yourself. They are also popular with locals who live there, which is a good indicator of their quality.
The Lake Conceição Florianopolis district is very cosmopolitan in nature, and as such, attracts international visitors from all over the world. Consequently, it is also one of the most expensive places to live in all of Florianopolis. This is true whether you plan on renting a home or owning one.
Some have expressed concern over the rising real estate prices in the region, fearing an increase in development that would rob this historic area of its original character. Fortunately, this has not come to pass. Building restrictions and other regulations coupled with a focus on environmentalism have helped to preserve the old-age charm of a small town.
If you want to experience one of the more popular and talked about places in Brazil, Lake Conceição Florianopolis is definitely worth seeing.
